HabitToll Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Comads OÜ (“we”, details in section 14) for the HabitToll app. They’re short; please read them.
1. What HabitToll is
HabitToll blocks the apps you want to use less, using Apple’s Screen Time. When you open a blocked app, a block screen appears. You can:
- walk away (“Not worth it”);
- use one of the free ways through (section 4); or
- buy a 10-minute unlock at a price you chose yourself.
Blocking, your statistics, the monthly bill, streaks and Friends cost nothing. There’s no subscription.
HabitToll is a self-control tool. It isn’t a medical product or a treatment, and we can’t promise any particular result.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18. You use HabitToll on your own device, for yourself. Don’t use it to control someone else’s device.
3. Unlocks you pay for
- You set the rules. During setup and in Settings,
you choose:
- your price per unlock;
- whether the price doubles for each further unlock the same day. It goes up to at most 10× your price, and resets at 04:00;
- a monthly limit. Prices above €19.99 need one.
- What one unlock is: a one-time in-app purchase, a “10-minute pass”. It opens the app you tapped for 10 minutes of use. It starts right away, and ends after 10 minutes of use or 60 minutes after it started, whichever comes first. Unused minutes don’t carry over.
- You buy it from Apple. Every payment goes through Apple’s purchase sheet, at the price Apple shows there, under Apple’s Media Services Terms. Apple charges you and handles the payment.
- The price before you pay: the block screen and the pay screen show the price of this unlock, and of the next one, before Apple’s sheet opens.
- Your monthly limit:
- Past your limit, the app asks before every paid unlock.
- With “Stop at my limit” on, paid unlocks stop until the 1st of the next month. Emergency unlocks still work.
- A purchase you already confirmed on Apple’s sheet, or one waiting for approval, is always delivered when it completes.
- If a purchase completes later, for example after an approval, HabitToll delivers it as soon as Apple passes it on, usually the next time you open HabitToll. If it’s the only request at that price from the last 24 hours and its app is still blocked, that app opens for 10 minutes then. Otherwise it’s kept as a prepaid unlock and used for your next unlock.
- If iOS locks a paid unlock again too early, less than 9 minutes after it started (sooner than its 10 minutes could have been used), your next unlock is free. An unlock that ends at the 60-minute limit isn’t made up. If anything else went wrong with an unlock you paid for, write to us, or ask Apple for a refund.
- Refunds are decided by Apple. You can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or through Help → Refunds in the app. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
4. Free ways through
- “Not worth it” is always one tap, and always free.
- Depending on your settings, you also have:
- free minutes each day, one pass shared by all your apps;
- 2 free emergency unlocks a month (10 minutes each). They also work when your monthly limit is reached;
- free make-up unlocks (section 3).
- You can remove apps, lower your price or stop blocking in Settings. If you turned on the settings lock, these changes wait 24 hours or need your partner’s code.
- Switching off Screen Time access for HabitToll in the iPhone’s Settings, or deleting the app, always ends blocking.
5. The settings lock
If you turn on the settings lock, changes that make blocking easier wait 24 hours, or need the code of a person you chose. This is your own choice, for your own benefit. It never affects the free ways through in section 4.
6. Friends
If you use Friends, the people you invite (or whose invite you accept) see:
- how many unlocks you paid for each day, and how much, unless you hide the amounts;
- your streak, unless you hide it.
They never see which apps. Friends can’t change your settings.
Invite only people you know. Don’t try to guess invite codes, send floods of invites or misuse Friends in any other way. If someone does, we may remove their Friends profile.
7. Fair use
Don’t copy, resell, reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, its purchases or our servers, except where the law allows it.
8. Availability and changes
HabitToll depends on Apple’s Screen Time, which we don’t control. We work to keep the app reliable, but we can’t promise it will always work without errors or interruptions.
We may improve and change the app. If a change affects an unlock you’ve paid for and not yet used, we’ll deliver it, or you can ask Apple for a refund.
9. Liability
We’re liable without limit:
- for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence;
- for injury to life, body or health;
- wherever the law doesn’t allow a limit.
For damage caused by slight negligence, we’re liable only if we breach a duty that’s essential to this agreement, and only for the typical damage that could be foreseen. Otherwise, as far as the law allows, we’re not liable.
10. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting the app. Before you do, Settings → Your data lets you delete your data.
11. Apple
- Your licence to use the app is Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add the rules for HabitToll’s features and purchases.
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, its support and any claims about it.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. We’ll tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using the app.
13. Law and disputes
Estonian law applies. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before its courts.
